چکیده

We investigate the natural families of periodic orbits associated with the equilibrium configurations of the the planar restricted 1 + n body problem for the case 2 6 n 6 4 equal mass satellites. Such periodic orbits can be used to model both trojan exoplanetary systems and parking orbits for captured asteroids within the solar system. For n = 2 there are two families of periodic orbits associated with the equilibria of the system: the well known horseshoe and tadpole orbits. For n = 3 there are three families that emanate from the equilibrium configurations of the satellites, while for n = 4 there are six such families as well as numerous additional connecting families. The families of periodic orbits are all of the horseshoe or tadpole type, and several have regions of neutral linear stability.

On the co-orbital motion of two planets in quasi-circular orbits

We develop an analytical Hamiltonian formalism adapted to the study of the motion of two planets in co-orbital resonance. The Hamiltonian, averaged over one of the planetary mean longitude, is expanded in power series of eccentricities and inclinations. The model, which is valid in the entire co-orbital region, possesses an integrable approximation modeling the planar and quasi-circular motions...

Orbital Perturbation Effect on LEO Satellite Trajectory

A satellite, in its orbit, is affected by perturbing forces, such as atmospheric drag, solar radiation pressure, Earth oblateness, and gravity of the celestial masses (other than the Earth). In this paper, the effects of these forces on the trajectories of different types of LEO satellites and a sample satellite (Z-SAT) are discussed. A few analyses are done on these orbits and the relevant res...

Effects Analysis of Frozen Conditions for Spacecraft Relative Motion Dynamics

The purpose of this rersearch is to analyze the effective application of particular earth orbits in dynamical modeling of relative motion problem between two spacecraft. One challenge in implementing these motions is maintaining the relations as it experiences orbital perturbations (zonal harmonics J2 and J3), most notably due to the Earth’s oblateness. Certain aspects of the orbital geometry c...

Orbital dynamics of three-dimensional bars – IV. Boxy isophotes in face-on views

We study the conditions that favour boxiness of isodensities in the face-on views of orbital 3D models for barred galaxies. Using orbital weighted profiles we show that boxiness is in general a composite effect that appears when one considers stable orbits belonging to several families of periodic orbits. 3D orbits that are introduced due to vertical instabilities play a crucial role in the fac...

On the bifurcation and Continuation of periodic orbits in the Three Body Problem

We study some new types of bifurcation of periodic orbits in the planar three body problem (TBP) consisting of a heavy body (star) and two bodies of small or negligible mass (planets). When one planet has zero mass, we have the restricted TBP. If the massive planet revolves in a circular orbit around the star, we get the circular restricted model (CRTBP) and if its orbit is elliptic, with eccen...
